The Quick & Easy Boys have come a long way since 2008's Bad Decisions With Good People. Their funky barroom rock n' roll is still defined by big fat bass lines, restrained guitar solos, a mix of country and soul vocals, but Red Light Rabbit shows a band growing into their sound. The jams are tighter and the songs are catchier. The best songs are the ones that keep up the pace. "Foster I..." whips along with breathless staccato vocals over a propulsive and funky beat while the strutting "Take Your Medicine" features sweet falsetto vocals. "Red Light Rabbit" packs in tempo changes and buzzing riffs with a healthy dose of attitude. There are still a couple jams that ride a groove a little long, but overall it's a fun album.
