The Subjects - New Soft Shoe EP
The Subject's New Soft Shoe is a quick taste of casually upbeat indie rock. "Winter Vacation" (mp3) features a chorus of whoa-oh's over loping and jazzy percussion, while the vocals on "Right2know" remind me a bit of the Little Ones or the Harlem Shakes. The mellow minimalism and thumping drums on "Little Mountaintops" round out the three song EP. It's not much to go on, but I like what I hear and it will definitely makes me want to show up early enough to catch their set when they open for the Bad Veins next month at Rotture.

God, I'm so behind on the QuickCrit game. I'm thinking this one tops my list for "must check out." A nod to Harlem Shakes is all it takes, apparently.
Well, good news for you. I've just added a link to an mp3 of "Winter Vacation". Let me know what you think.
Is it a broken link? It is your editorial duty to fix this with the quickness so I may partake!
(It works now). What a cute little track! His simple, sweet vocals are reminiscent of someone, but I can't put my finger on it... yet. Fun, fun, fun.
If you want to hear more songs, go check out their Daytrotter Session.
