It's Frightening could easily be summed up in a single question: Do you like the band Spoon? If so, then there is no reason why you would not enjoy this album. Based on the sound and style, Spoon's frontman, Brit Daniel, appears to have had more than just a production hand in this go around. White Rabbits' attributes—hammering drums, plunkity piano, a layered vocals—fill in around Daniel's musical architecture, and make for some entertaining, albeit familiar, tracks. Although there are stretches of unique flare, tracks like "They Done Wrong / We Done Wrong" and "Right Where They Left" could be straight off of Spoon's Gimmie Fiction. But really, who wouldn't want to sound like the universally appreciated and immensely talented Spoon? It's Frightening is not fantastic, but if you are looking for some new solid indie rock to pop on, this is a good album to tap into.

I really like this album, but then again I love Spoon.
Yeah. I have played this for a few people and asked them to guess who it is... 3 out of 3 have responded "Spoon;" however, they had previously not heard of White Rabbits.
Is rabbit the new: deer, bear, wolf, frog? I hope not.
It is a little interesting that a band with "Rabbits" in its name chose to use "Frightening" in its album title.
I really love this album still, yet... I'm still nowhere near being a Spoon fan. How the heck did that happen?
