Deastro - Moondagger (2009)

Somehow I overlooked Deastro's Keeper's last year. It wasn't until I listened to Moondagger that I realized I'd been missing out on some seriously good times. But then again, Moondagger may be way more fun. All you fans dancing the indie fantastic to Passion Pit will find plenty more songs to add to this weekend's dance mix. Like Passion Pit, Deastro write shimmering synth-based pop nuggets brimming full of upbeat choruses and catchy beats. The songs are dense with layers of ideas. "Vermillion Plaza" should get the appendages flailing, with a chorus that reminds me a bit of the British dance rock band The Music. The blissed-out "Toxic Crusaders" with its tinkling xylophone, "Parallelogram" with its sing song vocals, and the propulsive and spacy title track round out my favorites on the album.

I still can't find this album anywhere after you recommended it as Passion Pit, minus the white boy falsetto. I'll have to give it another looksy!

It should be available almost everywhere. It came out on the 2nd.

It should be available at your local mom and pop store or you can grab it at itunes or emusic. If you want vinyl, check out Insound as well. It comes with the CD version of Moondagger.
