- "Party Pit" - The Hold Steady
With so many great songs to fuel a night of binge drinking it is hard to pick just one, but I think the closing refrain sums those kind of nights perfectly: "gonna walk around, gonna walk around, gonna walk around and drink some more." - "Drunk & Stoned" - Faux Jean
Proposes that you can't party alone. But what if you are dancing? - "Too Drunk To Dream" - The Magnetic Fields
"Sober, life is a prison, shitfaced it is a blessing." Keep that in mind and poor me another shot. - "Rum To Whiskey" - The Murder City Devils
Switching teams mid game is never a good idea, especially when it seems like a good idea, but singing along, jumping around, and flinging beer around the room always is. - "Portland, OR" - Loretta Lynn & Jack White
Drink enough pitchers of sloe gin fizz and next thing you know you are hooking up with someone's grandma. That's how we roll in Portland.

Five Drinking Songs
In honor of the Murder City Devils and bad decision making, here are five songs to encourage you to have a little more fun. Are they the best drinking songs? Hard to say, but they get the job done.

No Drive-By Truckers?
"Dead, Drunk, And Naked" comes to mind... sing along now: Me and old Jack Daniel's, become the best of friends / We got all them Baptist's to die for our sins / I know the lord is coming / The South will rise again! (Dead, drunk, and nakeeeed!)
Or, "Let There Be Rock," Now these are drinkin' lyrics: "One night when I was seventeen, I drank a fifth of vodka, on an empty stomach, then drove over to a friend's house / And I backed my car between his parent's Cadillac's without a scratch / Then crawled to the back door and slithered threw the key hole, and sneaked up the stares And puked in the toilet /
I passed out and nearly drowned but his sister, DD, pulled me out."
Regardless, very solid list.
I believe, my dear, that it's Sloe Gin Fizz, which is what gives the drink a beautiful pink color. Clearly, you have not had enough girlie drinks -- I've failed you as a wife. However, on the bright side, it makes the song even better for you now....just think, Jack White sipping on a pink fizzy cocktail from a plastic pitcher.
Nightrain, I have a cousin named Dee Dee. She's a classy lady -- maybe she knows the Drive-By Truckers.
Tha Alkaholiks - "Only When I'm Drunk" Classic.
Leonard Skynard - "Simple Man" Can't be into serious boozin alone without this song.
Lynyrd Skynyrd is a good call.
The whole Gimme Back My Bullets album makes me wish I had a bottle of bourbon, a front porch, a rocking chair, a straw hat, some overalls, and a farmer's daughter... and some ice cold Shiner Bock.
Ahhh... reminds me of college.
Interesting list. Did any of you guys go to college in the South or something? Particularly Nightrain and Sandenuts.
Us Northerners enjoyed our GNR, Van Halen, Bon Jovi (NJ, sue us), and maybe a little "Laid" by James to scream along to, drunkenly, around last call.
Appetite for Destruction soundtracked the first and only time I cooked Thanksgiving for myself. It was great.
"Laid" is right up there with Cheap Trick's "Surrender" as one of my favorite songs to hear in a dive bar.
Appetite For Destruction and cooking Turkey dinner!? Haha. What?
Dude, between choosing VH's "Ain't Talkin' Bout Love," Bon Jovi's "Born To Be My Baby," and GNR's "Used To Love Her," "You Could Be Mine," and "Mr. Brownstone" on the jukebox, me and my 2 friends seriously paid the mortgage for our favorite college tavern :)
"Laid" is awesome when you're drunk. It's just fun to see who can actually stay in-tune during "You think you're so pretty-eeeeeeee."
Ps- "Surrender" is amazing anywhere, dive bar or at TGIF, haha! Did you ever see this: http://popwreckoning.com/2009/02/04/under-cover-wtf-edition-part-ii/
