Go Betty Go - "Es Mi Locura"
My co-worker, Eric, introduced me to their "Worst Enemy" EP. Initially, this song sounded to me like it was half in Spanish and half in a secret voodoo dialect. My itunes says that I have listened to it 3 times.
Voxtrot - "Mothers, Sisters, Daughter, & Wives"
I could happily carry on and on about this band...
The Black Keys - "Remember When (Side B)"
Thanks to this exercise in mp3 shuffling, I heard this song for the first time tonight. My homework is to listen to "Attack & Release" in its entirety STAT. They rock live!
Life Without Bulidings - "The Leanover"
This song says nothing and everything at the same time. It's fantastic!
The Polyphonic Spree - "Little Drummer Boy"
The Polyphonic Spree should leave this classic to Crosby and Bowie. This is another band that is fun to watch live. The backup singers always look like they are having a blast!
Afterthought
For all you Neil Diamond fans, check out "Little Drummer Boy" on his spectacular Christmas album. It's the gift that keeps on giving.

"The Leanover" is crazy and fun.
Remember when we went to that Polyphonic Spree concert and I smiled like a fool for the first 20 minutes and then begged Awmercy to leave because I thought they were a cult? Oh and then that couple next to us cried a lot. For Jesus.
Awmercy – Yeah, that song never gets old! Can we stop the hate mail now?
Brasilliant - Ha ha! Nothing makes beefcakey dudes cry like songs about the sun, trees, and cats. How about when the PS left the stage and then remerged in the crowd and parted it like the Red Sea? Oy!
Ha ha. Never! As far as I can tell our friendship is based on hate mail.
That's so true. Game on!
Is the PS "christian rock music" or are they just really happy musicians? I never really got them/their message/their music or even their fans. Help, I'm confused. hah
I definitely wouldn't say the are Christian rock, although they could maybe be called new age rock. They do love to get blissed out, which most people probably associate with revivals, but I'd say it's more of a stylistic similarity than a substantive one.
They definitely don't call themselves Christian rock, but when the lead singer dresses in a robe (albeit hot pink) and looks like Jesus while standing under a spotlight, you can see why people would get all teary-eyed. Like I said, I smiled like a fool from the happiness, but then freaked out wondering when they'd pass the Kool-aid.
Hahhaa, I love how Awmercy came back with a serious response and Brasilliants was all silly. I figure, as long as both of you weren't wearing black Nikes before, during, or post-show I think I might still be able to communicate with you :)
No, I'm saving my black Nike's for something much more paranormal.
I OWN THE NEIL DIAMOND CHRISTMAS ALBUM! I stole it from my parents. Merry Christmas to me.
