Hmm. I don't know what to make of this one. Another British blue-eyed soul singer with a powerful set of pipes. But something is a little off. Some songs just sound a little over-produced, or pitch corrected, like she was singing radio or dance pop until Amy Winehouse hit big. However, that can't hold back classic soul burners like "Mercy" and "Rockferry". Were Mark Ronson and the Dap-Kings unavailable?

Am I being too harsh on her? Am I too strict of a classicist?
I don't think you're being to harsh.. I went and watched some of her stuff on youtube and was pretty bored w/ it... then again I'm not really on the Amy Winehouse train. I might of been thrown off as I thought that we were talking about a Stephen Duffy album.
So are you a fan of the Lilac Time or just his colaborations with Robbie Williams?
Not a fan of Duffy... she was way hyped on Bands Under The Radar, and other outlets, so I gave her a fair, unbiased listen, but mostly she bored me...
Although some of her stuff is catchy.
While I'm still not loving the production, this album is growing on me.
